Noted author, documentary filmmaker, social entrepreneur & chairman of the DSB Group, Devir Singh Bhandari turned 30 some days ago. The social entrepreneur celebrated the special occasion by pledging to sponsor the education of 30 under privileged children. Now Devir has revealed that in his next outing as an author, he has turned to the genre' of love story to inspire the youth of today to chase their dreams but never to lose their connect with their true selves.
Tentatively titled, Gama in the Land of Lama, and spanning across North East India & London, the book packs in a strong element of mystery and culminates into a nail biting finish. The book is Devir's best kept secret & has been in the works for the last 5 years.

With Devir on the cusp of so much excitement, let's take a look back at Devir's journey so far.
Patriotism comes to Army kid Devir Singh Bhandari in the form of entrepreneurial initiatives that contribute to nation building. Coupled with a fascination with the world of media, Devir loves to narrate tales that inspire. Devir's journey into the world of media started with his interaction with the epitome of love itself, Late Mr.Yash Chopra at the House of Lords in Londay way back in 2008. It was impossible to look back post that.
He went on to working on films like Gunday with Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra & Arjun Kapoor and Bewakoofiyan with Ayushmann Khurrana & Sonam Kapoor. Soon after, Devir, all of 21 then, got behind the camera and made his first documentary titled Celebrating Life - a film on Cancer Awareness for the SAARC Nations & the Delhi Government. Devir's passion for his craft & his eye for detail got him instant recognition and won him multiple accolades. The same year as Celebrating Life was made, he was bestowed with the prestigious Young Achievers Award.
Soon Devir created his niche' in making documentaries that facilitated social change. He made a plethora of documentaries for the Delhi & UP Government, CII & also the Amity Humanity Foundation.
Keenly aware that the way to combating climate change is through sustainability, Devir, under the banner of his own production house made documentaries on subjects like, âWaste to Manure' for the Confederation of Industries, Delhi State.
Coming from a defence background, Devir has lived in multiple parts of the country and changed multiple schools as a child. This blessed him with a deep resonance with varied cultures & people; a virtue which was hugely resourceful during the Covid 19 pandemic. Given his acute understanding of the needs of people at the grassroot level, through his DSB foundation, Devir reached out to people across states in India and helped not only with Covid Safety Kits but also provided sustainable means of employment to those who lost their jobs.
With such exemplary work in the field of movie making & social entrepreneurship, Devir has been recognised at multiple platforms and has been bestowed with numerous accolades. This includes Young Entrepreneur Award conferred by ASSOCHAM and the prestigious Bharat Leadership Award (in recognition of his efforts towards nation building).
Saluting his impactful initiatives during the pandemic, Devir was recognised as the Youth Icon 2020 by Radio City FM in Delhi.
Taking his love for narrating tales to a parallel dimension, Devir authored the book Yuva Bharat, which saw light of the day even in the middle of the pandemic. The inspirational book was just what the nation needed to keep it going!
