Met Gala 2024: Singer-actor Rihanna, who is known to close the MET Gala, skipped it this year at the last minute. Despite being known as someone who arrives fashionably late, Riri couldn't make it this time as she was reportedly sick with flu following an appearance in Miami over the weekend for the Formula 1 race.
Earlier, in an interview obtained by People magazine, Rihanna shared her plans for the prestigious event, scheduled to take place on May 6, 2024, in New York City. "I'm actually keeping it real simple this year. ... It's gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do," the 36-year-old pop star revealed, hinting at a minimalist approach to her Met Gala look.
The singer-songwriter, known for her bold fashion choices, emphasized the simplicity of her selected outfits, stating, "Very simple-ish ... compared to everything I have done." Despite the toned-down aesthetic, Rihanna teased her presence at the gala, quipping, "I am showing up for dinner."
Well, it seems like all the plans went down the drain following the singer's rain check due to health reasons.

On the other hand, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani's daughter and heiress Isha Ambani Piramal flaunted a stunning Rahul Mishra sari gown, featuring a long floral train. While her pictures surfaced on social media that seemed to be an editorial look, she was nowhere to be seen on the red carpet.
As per stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, Isha's look "embraces sustainability by incorporating elements from Rahul's past collections. Delicate samples of flowers, butterflies, and dragonflies were meticulously integrated from the archives into the design, via distinct applique and embroidery techniques, such as Fareesha, Zardozi, Nakshi, and Dabka, as well as French knots. Together, all of these elements carry a powerful narrative about the state of the planet and offer a message of hope and rebirth."
The magnificent look was intricately hand-embroidered at Rahul Mishra's ateliers across several Indian villages, supporting hundreds of local craftspeople and weavers. Isha elevated her gown with a "clutch crafted by Swadesh using the ancient Indian art forms of Nakashi and Miniature Painting."
As usual, the 2024 Met Gala was a fashionable star-studded event with appearances from the biggest names across music, entertainment, and, of course, fashion. This year's event, held on May 7 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, welcomed everything from red carpet debuts to couple goals and family outings to the fashion's biggest night.
