Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi
Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi are one of the cutest couples in Bollywood. The sweet couple always sets strong couple goals, but do you know the reason behind their successful marriage? No? Shabana Azmi herself has revealed the secret that has kept them together after years of being married.
In an interview, Shabana Azmi revealed that Javed Akhtar thinks it is the distance that keeps them together. Akhtar believes that because the two do not meet very often, they have been able to keep their marriage alive. In an interview with 'ETimes', Azmi said, "He (Javed Akhtar) says the success of our marriage is that we don't meet too often, we are both busy running in different directions. We come from similar backgrounds - our fathers were poets from UP and communists, we have a common view on things - so people say considering these factors we should have had an arranged marriage."
Further in the same interview, Shabana Azmi shared that Javed Akhtar considers her his best friend. "Touchwood, we have a happy and strong relationship. He (Javed) says âShabana is my best friend and even marriage could not change that,'" she shared.
Earlier, in a conversation with Arbaaz Khan, Javed Akhtar talked about his relationship with Shabana Azmi. When asked about the recipe for a 'successful marriage', Javed replied, "Living with an independent strong-minded woman is not a bed of roses. Kahin aap ko push bhi karna padega, magar push aap equal ko kar rahe hain (Sometimes you have to push her, but you should always remember that she is your equal)."
