Vijay Varma and Alia Bhatt in `Darlings`
Alia Bhatt commemorated a year since the digital release of her critically acclaimed film 'Darlings' by divulging some invaluable behind-the-scenes footage. The film, which co-stars Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma, tells the riveting story of a woman, oppressed in a turbulent marriage, who one day determines to retaliate by plotting revenge.
Alia shared a wholesome video on Instagram sharing candid moments from the sets of 'Darlings.' These included hilarious bloopers such as the cast stumbling and tripping (quite literally) as well as over their lines, rehearsing together as a team as well as the grand celebration as they wrapped up the shoot.
Vijay also celebrated this milestone on Instagram by sharing several poignant stills from the film and stating, "One year of #Darlings. So proud of this crazy story and the twisted relationships it explored. Cheers to my lovely team and to the audience."

Fans poured their adoration and respect for 'Darlings' in the comments section. One social media enthusiast lauded, "Your portrayal of the character was so authentic and relatable, making the film a true reflection of life's complexities." Another remarked on the film's social significance, stating, "The movie was so good, especially the social message it delivered."
'Darlings' was co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan's production house, Red Chillies Entertainment. Vijay, buoyed by his recent series of accomplishments, took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the audience. He stated, "It feels awesome to have back-to-back successes and to receive this magnitude of love and compliments...I've realised that there's a strong connection that the audience has with me and that gives me motivation to make bolder choices and work harder."
'Darlings,' set in a conservative lower-middle-class neighbourhood in Mumbai, tells the engaging tale of an unconventional mother-daughter duo, navigating challenging circumstances with fortitude and affection. Marking Alia Bhatt's debut production venture, the film casts her alongside Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew in critical roles. Infused with elements of dark comedy, the movie confronts societal pressures and boldly challenges patriarchal norms. It underscores that tolerating abuse is never acceptable. The plot thickens as the love marriage of Hamza and Badru turns sour due to Hamza's transformation into an abusive, alcoholic husband. A tragic turn of events catalyzes her quest for vengeance.
