Set in Jaipur, Shuddh Desi Romance revolved around commitment-phobic Raghu (Sushant). He absconded from his wedding and met Gayatri (Parineeti), who soon became his live-in girlfriend. After she chose to run away on the day of their wedding, Raghu then bumped into Tara, the girl he left at the altar. The film explored the views of the younger generation on commitment, live-in relationships and arranged marriages as compared to love marriages in small-town India.
