Insiders insist that Aamir's production is delayed, pending his approval, Khan denies the charge
Aamir Khan Production's The Falling directed by debutant director Anusha Rizvi is ready for release. The film deals with the subject of farmer suicides and stars Raghuvir Yadav, Naseeruddin Shah and Aamir Bashir in lead roles.
Shot mostly in Bhopal and the interiors, the film has been ready with the final edit for months. However, Aamir has yet to give his approval on the final product.
Restless
A source from the unit reveals that director Anusha Rizvi is getting restless with the delay, "The film has been ready for a long time. Aamir was to sit on the final edit after he got back from his European holiday. However, he got busy withu00a0 Kiran Rao's film Dhobhi Ghaat and then Abhinav Deo's Delhi Belly."
The source adds that Anusha wants to take the film for festivals abroad and she can't do that till her producer gives her the final nod. "Since Aamir will now get busy with the promotion for 3 Idiots, he will be busier. The director is worried that the focus on the topic of farmer suicides might lose importance if delayed."
Aamir is also hunting for the right international distributor to market the film which is causing the delay. When contacted Khan says, "On Anusha's film, the news is that the final cut is locked and currently the background music work is on. So the film already has my approval and work is in progress."
