Afetr quite a few casting misses, television actress Ankita Lokhande, it seems, has finally got her big Bollywood break. A well placed industry source informs that Sushant Singh Rajput's former girlfriend has been signed for Sanjay Dutt's next, 'Malang'.
Ankita's name was tossed up for the first time for Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Happy New Year' (2014), but it didn't work out. She was then tipped to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati'. That project, too, reportedly slipped through her hands.
"But it appears her long wait to break into Bollywood has now ended. She will be seen playing a cop in 'Malang'," says the source.
The thriller, which will be helmed by newcomer Aarambh Singh, is a collaboration among Bhushan Kumar-led T-Series, Sandeep Singh and Omung Kumar.
When we connected with Singh, he dismissed the casting buzz. Ankita, on the other hand, chose not to comment. With a bunch of near-misses in the past, she probably wants to play it safe.
