Mahesh Bhatt and his team were not allowed to shoot for their upcoming film Crook in Australia even though they had all the requisite permission. The entire team had all the papers in place, including the work permits and a line producer, but after they reached their destination, they were denied permission. The Bhatts allege that the Australian officials brought up new rules, and even though the Bhatts complied with them, they were again denied permission to shoot. At that time, there were 15 other films being shot in the country without any trouble and only their film was singled out. The Bhatts have filed a complaint with the Indian Council General in Australia.
Meanwhile, the Australian officials have laid the blame squarely on the Bhatts, saying that the crew kept changing the location they wanted to shoot at and caused confusion and the denial of permission. It remains to be seen who is telling the truth.
