"The trade industry was waiting to see if the public who is used to being entertained by Kapil Sharma on the tube will pay to see him on the big screen but the producer's gamble paid off and the film which was made on a very modest budget had a great opening on Friday. The collections on Saturday and Sunday were equally good and in the very first weekend itself the film's entire cost has been recovered. One can safely term this film as a big hit," says trade expert, Amod Mehra.

On the other hand, Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Calendar Girls' failed to impress at the box-office. The film collected only Rs 4.50 crore in its opening weekend. "The opening was very poor and the weekend was not enough for it to consider it safe. As the film has A certificate, satellite rights too will not be able to bridge the gap," adds Mehra. Distributor-exhibitor Akshaye Rathi says, "'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon' overshadowed 'Calendar Girls'. It is interesting to witness how people have opted for the comic caper and not the other releases of the week."
