Arshad Warsi, who recently shot a Salsa number with Shilpa Shetty for the promos of a reality TV dance show, says he wouldn't mind choreographing again if a right film or song comes his way. As he gets chiggy wiggy, he speaks to CS about his connection with dancing:
Early connect
I started dancing at a young age, when I was eight years old. I instantly connected with the art. Dancing is something that takes me away from my present state of mind in a zap. It takes me to a place where I like to be. Dancing is the best form to release stress and negative energy.
Moreover, dancing has given me everything. It introduced me to different people; and if not for dancing, I'd have probably never become an actor. It liberates me, at the same time, it brings sanity in my life.
Footloose
Earlier, when I wasn't an actor, I'd frequent all the dancing haunts and dance the nights away. When I'm on the dance floor, I'm completely disconnected from the world. I don't bother checking who's watching, who's not. Now whenever I'm in Goa, I party the hardest. Maria and I hit all the nightclubs and pubs in Goa with a vengeance. In fact, my two kids also love dancing and participate in all their school functions.
All that jazz
I like all forms of dance, but I really love jazz. I used to do quite a bit of modern jazz. I love this dance form because there's certain fluidity to your body and you can express through your body language beautifully. Latin American dance is another dance form that I truly like.
Dancing divas
Michael Jackson, of course, was my favourite dancer followed by Gene Kelly, Nicholas brothers and a famous ballet dancer, Darish. On our homeground, I think Madhuri Dixit is a fantastic dancer. I completely adore her. Govinda is another person who dances from his heart. Prabhudeva and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are, of course, good. But I think Hrithik is brilliant.
