6 am: Am up in the mountains in my home in Kasauli, taking a break after the press conference we had in Mumbai announcing Equation - India's most historic sports auction.
6.15 am: Candy, the caretaker's dog, trots in. A wonderful watchdog, he's lost the use of one hind leg.
8 am: Deep into the mountains and the hillsides awash with flowers. Catch the bee in the photo.

10 am: Finished packing. Now to move on to putting stuff in the house away till I return next in November.
11 am: Goodbyes said to all, including Candy. Am driving back to Delhi in time for Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
12.30 pm: Dharampur. Parwanoo gone. We've just passed the bottleneck at Kalka, traffic seems manageable.
3.15 pm: Dal-roti at Jhilmil Dhaba near Karnal. Traffic's getting worse.
6.15 pm: We've driven like the wind to reach Delhi. Half an hour to Nehru Stadium. I'm so honoured to be invited by the Sports Minister to watch the opening of the Commonwealth Games.
6:45 pm: Am excited. Can't wait for it to start. Also hope to meet Kapil Dev, Ajit Pal Singh and Prakash Padukoneu00a0-- some of the Indian sporting greats who have donated items for the sports auction.
6:55 pm: Time to shut off my phone. Wait for tomorrow's diary for some interesting information from CWG.
