You can't help but ogle at Katrina Kaif when she's grooving to Chikni Chameli. And though she makes the choreography look so effortless, let us tell you that she had to put in a lot of khoon paseena into the song. Well, literally. Katrina, who had to dance on gravel, would come home with sore feet everyday after the shooting. But she knows that all the hard work has paid off. The actor talks to CS about the hit number and the Chikni and Sheila tags:

Who: Katrina Kaif
What: Talks about her item numbers and beauty secrets
Where: At a five-star hotel

Bloody cool
Well, I did take a lot of stress about Chikni. But it was comforting to know that Ganesh (Acharya) and Karan (Johar) were clear about what they wanted. So I went along whole-heartedly. I think that if you do something with full conviction, it reflects on the project. And I had a lot of fun shooting for that song. Though I must add that it wasn't all that easy. The weather was really hot and the gravel didn't make things any easier. By the third day of the shooting, my feet were bleeding.

On my mind
Ya, I know that the 'Chikni' tag isn't going to leave me anytime soon, but that doesn't bother me too much. Not that it would make me jump for joy, but it's good to know that the song has been registered. We all do songs and films sometimes that are forgettable. But when a name or a song catches on, you know that you've just created a memory.

Matter of looks
There are some songs in which you just need to look good, and Chikni was one of those. So if you know that, you go out and concentrate on your styling. There is a great emphasis on beauty in our industry. But that doesn't mean that you don't get noticed for de-glam performances. In Rajneeti, I looked 'unfinished', but I tried to stay true to my character.

Mane point
Beauty is all about being comfortable with who you are. I'm always trying to enhance my strengths and conceal my flaws. I know I have a good height, so I like to wear feminine silhouettes and avoid anything short. And yes, I like to leave my hair down. It's my 'security blanket'. I've always had long hair. When I was 13 years old, it was as long as my hips. I keep trimming it now though to keep it looking healthy.
