A nod of approval from the international press doesn't hurt, and designer duo Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna were visibly excited to have veteran fashion writer Suzy Menkes sitting on row 1 at their show.

A nod of approval from the international press doesn't hurt, and designer duo Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna were visibly excited to have veteran fashion writer Suzy Menkes sitting on row 1 at their show. The unassuming narrow ramp took on a 3-dimensional perspective with zig zag design, as models stomped in wearing outfits with architectural lines.

Thorough-bred Delhiites, Rohit and Rahul understand the value of a Fall/Winter showing for their clientele.

Luxurious wools stole the limelight, with a special appearance by evening wear options in silk and satin. The interesting use of drapes, pleats, threadwork, ribbed and distressed textures, pin tucks with a hearty dose of abstract prints, lent flexibility to conventional structures.

Cropped Jackie Onassis jackets, poncho sweaters, one-shoulder jumpsuits, wide-leg trousers, drape and bell dresses strung it all together, making it a universal collection.

Spot the difference
Call it coincidence, or a well-designed game plan. The hairdo of models at the Cue show were similar to Suzy Menkes' iconic swept-behind tuft. Rahul Khanna says it wasn't planned, but "just a sweet coincidence."
