With songs from Jism 2 (2012), Yaariyan (2014), Kapoor & Sons (2016), Rustom (2016) and Baar Baar Dekho (2016) to his credit, composer-singer Arko Pravo Mukherjee aka Arko has carved a niche for himself in the Bollywood music fraternity. Now, he is set to foray into independent music with his first single, Aainda.
"The song is close to my heart, as it's a step towards a non-film music career. In an impatient world, where society slowly widens the gap between love and togetherness, this song is an ode to idealistic love. It talks about how two people, at the brink of separation, struggle to find possibilities, strength, forgiveness and each other again," says the singer, who wants to establish himself as an English independent artiste.
The composer-singer has a few Bollywood songs in the pipeline, including the ones in Bareilly Ki Barfi and Anubhav Sinha's next.
Stating he likes to choose his projects carefully, Arko adds, "I don't agree with a majority of notions regarding music-making in films. Also, I split my time between Mumbai and LA these days."
