Aamir Khan's proteges Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra made waves in the film industry with Dangal - a film on Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and wrestler daughters, Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat. While Aamir Khan played these two girls father in the film, Fatima played Geeta, and Sanya, the youngest, Babita. Impressed with their action skills in the film, they both have won Action awards at the prestigious fourth annual Jackie Chan Film Action Movie Week, which was held during the Shanghai Film Festival.
The award ceremony was held in Datong, China, and the two girls made it to the event and had a fan moment when they met renowned action superstar Jackie Chan. Both, Fatima and Sanya posed with the star for a picture and shared it on their respective social media accounts. Sanya, who won 'Best New Action Award' posted the image with her million dollar smile and captioned, "Met a legend who's so humble, gracious and hospitable. Thank you so much @jackiechan for having us at #jackiechanactionmovieweek . Looking forward to watch the closing ceremony and especially the performance by your team #jackiechan#dangal (sic)."
Fatima bagged the award for 'Best Action Actress' for Dangal and shared the brilliant news on her Instagram, along with Sanya's win. She wrote, "Mujhe bhi award mila! Best action actress (sic)."
Dangal, directed by Nitesh Tiwari created huge waves post its release in China and according to several reports, the Aamir Khan film has been ranked number one in an annual survey conducted by the Chinese IMDB. On the professional front, Fatima will be seen with Aamir Khan in Thugs of Hindostan, to be released this Diwali 2018, and Sanya alongside Ayushmann Khurrana in Badhaai Ho slated to hit the screens on October 19, 2018.
