Most South Indian films that come to a national audience in a Hindi dubbed version, either get relegated to video halls serving the appetite of adrenaline starved truck drivers who are missing out on bad-ass potboilers or reach a mainstream theatre audience of regional rowdies who want to see the action simbly one more time.

Dashavtar sadly falls into both these categories, thereby missing the whole point of reaching out to a larger audience. At a time when no one is thronging theatres, it's no surprise that the film too will go unnoticed.u00a0

With a storyline that hangs by a thread, all that we get to see over two hours is Kamal in various disguises running from pillar to post.

There's nothing new in the plot or of the putting on various disguises act; the actor has done it in the past (Hindustani, Appu Raja, Chachi 420).
