Deepika turns stuntwoman

Deepika Padukone is not one to shy from doing risky stunts. Recently, she did a dangerous stunt for Pradeep Sarkar's Lafange Parindey with Neil Nitin Mukesh. The scene involved her and Neil to be crossing a road when she accidentally falls into a deep and wide hole full of swirling muddy water. Neil and the director insisted she let a body double do the role and even arranged for one, but Deepika was very clear that she would do it herself. She was also aware that once she fell, she would be able to come out only with the help of professional divers. So far, she had done other stunts like jumping over walls and turning somersaults for the film, but this was the most dangerous of them all. But Deepika was adamant that she would do the stunt herself. Pradeep and Neil had no option but to give in.

Deepika finally did the stunt. Fortunately, she is a good swimmer and managed to hold her breath till the shot was done and the professional divers helped her out. The crew heaved a sigh of relief when she came out safely.
