Contract states that director Anthony D'Souza cannot work on Blue 2 until he finishes pending film for another production firm
Anthony D'Souza's next after Blue might not be the sequel (tentatively called Arial), after all. In fact,
Deferred debut
Reveals an industry source, "Besides talk of a Blue sequel, other projects have also been linked to Tony directly and indirectly. But very few are aware that he has signed a contract with Moser Baer for his next, which was actually supposed to be his debut flick."
The source further points out, "The film, called Ishaan, a thriller with elements of horror. But when Blue came his way, he jumped ship. He had to take a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Moser Baer head honcho, Harish Dayani to start work on Blue. In the NOC as well, it is clearly mentioned that he will have to make his second with their company only and that he can't work on anything else."
Says Harish Dayani, "Anthony is our find and we did give him a NOC to make Blue. When he requested us, we obliged and put our movie Ishaan on hold till he finished Blue. He is committed to our company and now that he is done, we are looking to get the final touches on Ishaan and we will move forward to the casting of the film. I keep hearing about him starting to work on Blue 2u00a0 but according to the contract I had drawn with him, he is doing his next with us."
Anthony, however, retorts, "I had signed Ishaan four and a half years back and the film was shelved soon after. I am currently working on scripts and when I am ready with it, I will make an announcement."
