Emraan can paint... and not just on screen but off it, too!

Emraan Hashmi, who plays a painter in Raaz The Mystery Continues has become an artist in real life too.

Trained under Sailesh Achrekar, he not only learned techniques of painting but also learnt about other mediums of art and ended up making several paintings.

Getting to work

Says Emraan, "Before shooting for Raaz, I was training under Sailesh Achrekar. Mohit (Suri; Raaz 2 director) wanted a character similar to Sailesh.

During this course, I started to learn to paint using various techniques, which I was not even aware of.

Through the lessons, I learnt to sketch with charcoal, pencils, work with oil paints and use different tools for effect such as knives and sponges."

Incidentally, Emmi gifted an abstract painting to his wife, Parveen. He says, "I don't know if she liked it or not but she accepted it with a smile."

Stress-buster

He continues, "The entire process of painting rejuvenates me and is a complete stress-buster. It is just the start and I am not a pro at it but I'm trying to get better with every portrait.

With any form of art, you need practice. You have to trust it, offer something your best and then step back to see what is created.

Passion play

After RTMC, Emraan will be seen in Kunal Deshmukh's Tum Mile yet again as an experienced artist. Sailesh, who has done most of the paintings in Tum Mile says, "Emraan was very passionate about this form of art.

I was appointed to train him as an artist, so he could look authentic on screen but his passion towards painting made me teach him its various forms."
