He is young, he is creative and is busy and it is this hustle-bustle in his work-life that designer Kunal Rawal wanted to bring to the Fashion Week ramp on Saturday. Show stoppers Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor extended his vision when they showcased his designs by walking (and even dancing) on the ramp.
u00a0"I've done great work for them, so I feel that they do justice to my clothes. Also both of them have swagger and a personality that goes well with my clothes apart from the fact that they are also friends," says Rawal, adding, "My collection this year is a happy summer collection and all elements are basically inspired by my work place.
The different techniques and procedures that are employed to make a material into a garment is a very exciting process and I wanted to use those elements for this collection," says Rawal, who featured hanger prints, shirt blazers and âcrows hat' stripes (inspired by the crow shit outside his office).
Accessories were a big part of the collection with even shoes designed by Rawal and inclusion of a lot of headwear.
His line is lightweight with sweat absorption benefit. Throwing light on his absence from the ramp for two years, the designer reveals, "I'm returning after two years because working on one collection means that I lock myself for at least a month and a half; I wanted to explore different things. I am a creative person and I also wanted to build my knowledge, so I did styling for films and costume design where I contributed to the look of the film."
