Shweta Varma is yet another newbie in B-Town who makes her debut in Apoorva Lakhia's maiden production venture Hide and Seek. Though she is still trying to find her bearings in the industry, there are hushed whispers about the Delhi girl's links with Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, no less!
It is learnt that Shweta is the girlfriend of Gauri's cousin Rustom Tiwari. She stayed at Mannat for three months earlier this year when she wasu00a0 looking for work.

Adds the source, "But she did not flaunt her association with the star to get a role. She bagged Hide and Seek on her own merit."
Sources add that when she was being finalised for the project that is produced by Lakhia in association with Moser Baer and directed by Shawn Aranha, she requested for a copy of the contract. She told them that she wanted to show it to a relative who is part of the industry. Initially, the producers were wary about her request but when they realised that she was referring to SRK they were taken aback. Her contract was then sent to SRK.
When asked about her links with SRK and Gauri, Shweta says, "Yes, I know them but this is something extremely personal."
She prefers to talk about her work. "I have just started shooting for Hide and Seek. I was an airhostess with Emirates Airlines for three years. I quit flying to pursue acting. I have also done modelling."
As part of her preparations, she has done an acting course at Anupam Kher's academy and is learning kathak. She has featured in a talcum powder and a women's health drink commercial.
