Govinda seems to have finally given his nod to play the role of a father on the big screen

After the actor bowed out of Athiya Shetty's 'Hero', where he was to play the debutante's father, Govinda has agreed to essay Ranbir Kapoor's dad. The film, 'Jagga Jasoos', will star RK as a 17-year-old lad.

Says a source, "The film is a joint production between Ranbir and director Anurag Basu. It was Anurag who had approached Govinda to star in the film.

Govinda has apparently already greenlighted the project." Govinda, however, admits to verbally having agreed to be a part of the film but says he has not formally signed it yet.

"I have seen their work. I would love to work with them. We are still discussing the role."

In the meanwhile, Govinda has been itching to mark his second innings in Bollywood. He says, "My movies haven't released in the last three years and soon enough, along with the father's role, I will be approached for the grandfather's role as well."

Anurag Basu remained unavailable for comment. u00a0
