Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has had a few bad experiences with the country's immigration authorities in recent times. But if sources are to be believed, the singer flew into Mumbai earlier this week to record a song for Salman Khan's upcoming sports drama, Sultan.

A source says, "Khan was in Mumbai only for a couple of days. It was a strictly professional trip and the makers of Sultan ensured that it was a hassle-free visit this time. He recorded a song at Yash Raj Studios."

In 2010, the singer was denied a visa to India and consequently, had to record a song for Salman-starrer Dabangg overseas. Then, again, he was deported to Abu Dhabi after landed in Hyderabad to perform at a 2016 New Year's eve bash.

Between these two instances, Khan had been intercepted in 2011 at the New Delhi airport for allegedly carrying an undeclared amount of $1.24 lakh. In connection with this case, he had been summoned to the capital for questioning. However, in September last year, he had come to Mumbai for the music launch of Salman's production, Hero.

The spokesperson for Yash Raj Films, which is producing Sultan, remained unavailable for comment on Khan's visit.
