The 33-year-old said that from now on she wants to star in films which will earn her the respect as an actor. "I know I look good. The regular adjectives that come my way- sexy, hot, dusky, bong bombshell... I love them. It is going to stay with me. But I am done looking pretty. Now, I want meaty roles. I want to do entertaining films, where a woman gets the respect of being an actor.
"All my colleagues are trying to move away from that. After all how long can you be an eye candy? I love being an eye candy. I know am an eye candy. But then what. I want to move a little bit deeper," Bipasha told in an interview.
The model-turned-actress has starred in commercial films like 'No Entry', 'Phir Hera Pheri', 'Dhoom 2', 'Race' as well as off-beat films like 'Corporate', 'Omkara', 'Shob Charitro Kalponik'. She says she did try her hands in the art house genre but now wants to just do commercial films which earn a lot of money.
"It is said that anyone who does commercial cinema is not acting and anyone who does an art film is acting. I don't believe it. I feel whenever you are doing a film you are acting. So, you need to be applauded for that. I wont do art house cinemas. I want to make commercial films. I want my films to make money."u00a0
"You don't have to do off beat films to prove that you can act. I have done it but only to prove myself that I can fit convincingly into every kind of films. I want to do the 100 crore film where the hero does all the work and I get to relax," she added.u00a0
Bipasha, is all set for the release of supernatural thriller 'Raaz 3' tomorrow, which is the third part of the 'Raaz' series. The 3D film will see Bipasha portraying the role of a star, who resorts to black magic to bring down an upcoming actress, when her career starts to decline.
When asked if she found it difficult to play a dark character, the actress said, "Shanaya is the darkest character you have ever seen any actress play in a film in the history of Indian cinema. No actress would want to take this role and that is why Bhatt saab (producer Mahesh Bhatt) says that I am very brave. I am also very quirky, I go by my gut. This is something that really excited me," Bipasha said.
Bipasha's last two films -- multi-starrer 'Players' and rom-com 'Jodi Breakers' -- did not do well but she says it has no bearing on her next release. "My last two films flopped. I have to deal with it. 'Raaz 3' has got no connection with the fact that my last two films did not do well. I am very attached to the film. I have given so much to this role and that is why it has to do well. So there is no two ways about it. It is not about what has happened in my life rather what will happen post this," she said.
