It's because Dobriyal plays only acting role in Hero, a silent film

Deepak Dobriyal dazzled audiences with his performances in films like Omkara, Gulaal and Delhi-6 and will be seen next in a silent flick, Hero, featuring only him.

It is a ten-minute film, being directed by Kundan Shah and produced by Sahara One Motion Pictures. It is part of Mumbai Cutting a ten film (ten minutes each) collaborative effort under a common theme the life and spirit of Mumbai.u00a0

Dobriyal who says his role is the toughest , elaborates, "It tells a story of a first-timer in Mumbai. And how he copes with the typical situations in the city.

Like getting into a train and how by the end of the film, he masters the art of travelling on Mumbai's lifeline (the local trains).

There are no dialogues at all, not even from the crowd around just a hunting background score.

We shot the movie in about three days at Goregaon station platform number 5 and that too at peak hours.

It is very difficult because the camera was hidden for the most part and not many were aware that a film was being shot around them."

They cared

Deepak further adds, "Because I had to rehearse my scenes a couple of times the crowd around me really thought I was a nutcase and started passing funny comments. For a scene, I had to run behind a moving train and try to catch it.

When I started to do so, people in the train who were obviously not aware of the shooting, started to hurl abuses at me and even yelled back saying that I had a death-wish and told me to take next one.

It was touching to see that even though these people didn't know me, they cared about a stranger."

About the lack of dialogues in the film, the actor says, "Conversations in a film are helpful as they make acting easier. But one has to master the art of emoting through the body and specific movements to make it all workable and believable.

But I am happy with whatever I have done in this film as it has enhanced me as a performer. Recently the film was screened at an International festival and the response the movie got was amazing."
