Nikhil admits he hadn't thought that Kangana would agree to do the film. He says, "I had made a film like Chandni Chowk To China (2008) and she had won accolades for Queen (2013). After giving her the script, she told me stuff like, ‘I am going through it', ‘I will tell you in two days', ‘I am reading it', etc."

But then Salman intervened, asking her to keep her apprehensions aside and go through the film's script as it was something right up her street.

Adds Nikhil, "I felt everyone was doing me a favour by being a part of my film. I felt that especially after Kangana finally said yes to me."
