Asking price for a New Year's Eve act is now a whopping Rs 2 crore, the highest ever for an actress
Katrina Kaif will be paid almost double of what she was offered last year to perform on New Year's Eve at the J W Marriott. The star's price was Rs 1 crore to usher in 2009 but due to the 26/11 terrorist attacks, all December 31 shows were cancelled. As a result, she could not stage her act.
Though everyone concerned is tightlipped, it is learnt that Kat has been paid a bigger whopper to bring in 2010u00a0- almost Rs 2 crore!
Grand affair
Says a source, "Last year, the celebrations were put off due to the sombre mood in the city after 26/11. This New Year's Eve, however, plans are on to make Katrina's event a grand affair. The actress has agreed to get jiggy but obviously for a higher price to match her present position in B-Town."
Last year, she had scored over Bipasha Basu and Mallika Sherawat who have also performed at the same venue. While Mallika made Rs 50 lakh to welcome 2007, Bipasha netted Rs 90 lakh to usher in 2008.
Adds the source, "Katrina will perform solo in the countdown to 2010. She will dance to popular tracks from her own films."
The actress is guarded about her New Year's Eve show. Says Katrina, "Nothing's confirmed about December 31 yet."
But the source maintains, "The hotel is already making arrangements for her live act. They are touting it as a very exclusive show and their biggest draw for the December 31 night." Last year, Rocky S had been roped in to style her and Bosco-Ceasar for the choreography.
Apart from Katrina's act, the hotel will also have 10 party zones which will be available for an all-access entry ticket for Rs 10,500 per person for the early birds (till November 30) and Rs. 12,000 per person from December 1 onwards.
