There's very little that one doesn't know about Bollywood's badshah Shah Rukh Khan. With the star celebrating his 44th birthday today, CS gives you a page from his personal diary:

He first appeared on the small screen in Fauji (1988), where he played the role of a commando. His second noted role was in Aziz Mirza's television serial Circus in 1989. But King Khan made his Bollywood movie debut only in the year 1992 in Deewana. The movie became a box-office hit, and launched his successful career.

Shah Rukh studied acting under celebrated theatre director Barry John at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (TAG).

Darr marked his first collaboration with famous filmmaker Yash Chopra and his banner Yash Raj Films.

His dad Taj Mohammed Khan was an Indian independence activist from Peshawar, British India. He has an elder sister named Shehnaz


SRK turned producer when he set up a production company called Dreamz Unlimited with Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza in 1999.

SRK has also done play back singing for his movies like Baadshah (Main to hoon Pagal), Joshu00a0 (Apun Bola), Donu00a0 The Chase Begins Again (Khaike Paan Banaraswala), Chak De! India (Ek Hockey Doongi Rakhke and Sattar Minute).


Raj and Rahul seem to be his favourite on-screen names. He's been named Raj seven times and Rahul six in his movies.

He has won 13 Filmfare awards till now, out of which he's won seven Best Actor awards.

He was honoured with Padma Shri in 2005.

SRK has a life-size wax statue of himself in Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, London and another in Musu00e9e Grevin, Paris.

He's also Dr Shah Rukh Khan. He received an honorary doctorate in arts and culture from the University of Bedfordshire in July this year.
