The Movies I Loved Growing Up
The actress picks her flicks...

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron: Itu00a0 brings back a lot of fond memories of watching it with friends and losing our mind laughing right till the very end. This is a legendary movie. The cinematography, the livewire performances, the background score as well as the story and everything about it, is memorable. Satire, farce, dark comedy and slapstick are all bundled up into one big beautiful chaos in Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. JBDY unleashed a creative maelstrom which nobody was able to control.

Satte Pe Satta: I remember having watched this film with my family umpteen times. This is an amazing movie that is so funny and full of thrills. It reminds me of a time when the country worshipped Mr Bachchanu00a0 and continues to do so. A playful look at a family of seven brothers living on a farm, with all its ups and downs, tragedies and laughter, and the impressive effort by all of the cast, it's truly a gem.

Breakfast At Tiffany's:
This movie came around the time which was unknown to me as a child. But in my late teens, a cousin of mine introduced me to this classic. When I watched the movie, I was more than impressed. Breakfast At Tiffany's preserves an idyllic time and place in the American psyche, a time when being hip and urbane were accessible and desirable. Everything falls nicely into place in this romantic-comedy; direction, musical score, acting and screenplay. Filmed on location in New York, this is a beautiful, captivating movie, that is a time machine to a wonderful place that probably really never existed except in our imagination.

My Cousin Vinny: This is one of those rare films that I have watched over and over again and was not tired of it. It is one of the most brilliant comedies ever made. There is simply so much to remember about this movie. It is not simply a slapstick comedy and the dialogues are terrifically funny.

Forrest Gump: I saw this movie in the theatres way back in 1994. When it was released on VHS, I obtained that version too. This is an amazing movie in a number of ways the performances, the special effects and the way the story is told.
