Even though her Bollywood career is progressing rather sluggishly, Lauren Gottlieb hardly has time to ponder. Offers from across the globe have been pouring in for the dancer-actress, and she believes her future lies in the West.
Currently shooting for Jac Mulder's Hollywood film, Twisted Blues, in Dubai, Lauren tells mid-day she is excited for the role she is set out to play, given that it's different from the ones that have come her way. "The film is about women empowerment. My character is called Hunter, who faces domestic violence at the hands of her husband. She escapes this vicious cycle with the help of her best friends, who are professionals in Mix Martial Arts. I haven't attempted a role of this nature before, and am really proud to be a part of this film."
The 29-year-old actress, who has previously been a part of Hollywood movies, including Hannah Montana: The Movie and Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, auditioned for this role via a video conference, while on her annual visit to her family in the States. "I got a call from a friend who is also working on the film. He told me that they had cast an Egyptian actress with whom things didn't work out, and were looking for someone. My friend sent a few videos to the director. A Skype-call later, things fell in place."
Given that she hasn't worked in the West for close to four years. Lauren Gottlieb admits she wants to concentrate on her Hollywood projects here on.
