When asked whether she was preparing to retire from films and stepping towards a life of spirituality and renunciation, Koirala who is here to attend a religious programme, said, "Movies are my lifeline."
"I cannot think of going away from films. Just a day before coming here I signed two films. One by Rajkumar Santoshi and another by a Tamil film-maker," she said.
Clad in saffron like a sadhvi and sitting on a chariot as part of a shobhayatra, the actress said it was too early to say she was preparing to embrace a life of renunciation.
"Though coming to Haridwar is always a spiritually elevating experience, I think I am not ready yet to embrace a life of renunciation which is difficult.
"I may do so when the time comes but not now," she said when asked whether her saffron attire was an indication that she was moving towards a life of spirituality.
Koirala took part today in a religious procession which was taken out from Har Ki Pauri here as a prelude to tomorrow's Mahamrityunjay Ekadash Rudra Mahayagya being performed by Mahayogi Pilot Baba and his aides.
Her participation in the programme has given rise to speculation that the religious ceremony is being performed on her behalf as a gesture of gratefulness to the almighty for the actress's victory in her battle with cancer.
However, Pilot Baba himself insisted that the Mahayagya is being performed for world peace.
