Minister attends JJ Valaya's show to support Tejuswini who walked the ramp
Union women and child development minister Renuka Chowdhary raised quite a few stylish eyebrows as she attended the Grand Finale show of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week on Sunday night. But the minister was not there to speak politics. She had come to cheer her 22-year-old daughter Tejuswini, who sashayed down the ramp for fashion czar JJ Valaya.

Even after the show was over, she couldn't stop praising her younger child. "I am here not as a politician but as a mother. I am so proud. It felt great to see how confident she was on the ramp. Tejuswini has always been fashionable, even when she was just two years old. She was so lucky to have got this opportunity," said Chowdhary.
Tejuswini, meanwhile, couldn't stop gushing about the show. "I was so excited about walking the ramp for JJ. And as mom was there to support me, I was not nervous at all."
The gutsy gal, who is working as a media consultant with Gap Internationalu00a0a management consulting and leadership development firmu00a0said she was spotted by Valaya at a social event a month ago. "When he offered me the show, I couldn't refuse," said Tejuswini.
But after her casual stint as a model, Tejuswini is interested in switching careers. "I also walked for designer Kavita Bhartiya's show at this fashion week. I want to continue as a model. So you will see much more of me on the ramp," she said.
Talking about her mother's support, Tejuswini said, "She is the most beautiful mother. She used to be a model herself many years ago and has instilled confidence in me."
But her mother was quick to retort. "My modeling stint was many years and many kilogrammes ago!"
