Most of the actresses have declined offers this year because the offers haven't been lucrative

Even though Bipasha Basu is raking in the moolah for her performance on New Year's Eve, the same can't be said about the rest. Most of the actresses have declined offers this year because the offers haven't been lucrative.

While some divas are still in the negotiating stage, hoping to get a better deal, mosthave made plans to party this year in stead of performing for New Year revelers at a 5-star or a 3-star hotel.

Huge lull
A source reveals, "Usually actresses, are offered big bucks for their New Year performances, but this year has seen a huge lull. There are two reasons for the less money for performances this year. One is inflation, and hotels have not done great business are secondly after the attacks on 5-star hotels last year, people are wary about going to them for safety reasons. Some actresses are looking at Dubai and other cities to perform where the organisers can meet their price."

Ameesha Patel, who performs at a fixed venue each year has shifted her venue to Dubai where she will perform at a club with Govinda. While Celina Jaitly is performing at Country Club, she claims to have been paid more than what she was last year.

Mallika unhappy
Mallika Sherawat who nabbed close to a crore a few years back too has declined offers to perform. A source close to her reveals, "She is definitely not happy with the kind of offers made."

Another actress on anonymity says, "Even big hotels are offering something between 30-40 lakhs which is very less, compared to their standard rate. Rather than spending the New Year's getting under paid for a performance, I would spend time with friends and family."

Tanushree Dutta, who's has been bust on 31st night for the last two years, is not working this year and plans to bring in the New Year night with friends unless she gets an interesting prospect. She says, "I will only take something up that's different and exclusive from the rest."

Koena Mitra, who was paid 51 lakhs for her performance last year is still deciding where she would perform. Malaika Arora Khan and Sameera Reddy are also not performing this year. When contacted, Neha Dhupia said she would be busy promoting her film. "I won't be performing for New Year's. I am busy with the promotions of my movie Raat Gayi Baat Gayi."
