Mozez Singh, best known for line-producing A Mighty Heart and getting into a scuffle with Shah Rukh Khan at Maheep Kapoor's birthday party last year, is all set to direct his first feature film. But just like his atypical ventures earlier (he had written and produced a feature film, White Noise) this too, promises to be out-of-the-box.
"It's a full-on Bollywood film. It's got song and dance but it's raw and edgy, not typical at all," he says. It's taken him around six years to write the script and after several drafts, Mozez says he's ready to lock the final script.
"I start pre-production in August and then I hope to shoot in the North in the winter months as I want to capture the cold," he reveals. But what he's not planning to reveal is the cast. "It's going to be a new cast," is all he says. Mozez, who's co-produced Peddlers with Anurag Kashyap and Guneet Monga, is soon leaving for Cannes for the film's premiere. "It's not my first time there.
A Mighty Heart too premiered in Cannes and it couldn't have been more Hollywood and glamorous than being there with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. But Peddlers is a film that's come from the heart. This is a small film, and it wasn't made easily. So I'm very proud it's made it to Cannes, which is the biggest party for films in the world," he adds. u00a0
