You can forget about an aura of suspense with Nikasha Tawadey. The designer's own sense of dressing reflects in what she sends out on ramp. It's as easy as that.

Her past collections have brought a sense of belonging to every proud-to-be-an-Indian present in the audience. But there's always a catch when simple, good clothes are concerned. And with Nikasha, it's the obvious Sabyasachi Mukherjee hangover. She is good friends with him.

Nothing wrong with that. But when the influence rubs off, you get a muse dressed in mish mash.

Her Indian wear collection was a diffusion range that allowed occasional access to bright colours (saffron and haldi), with shades of white taking the lead.

The big bindi that models sported, a Hibiscus pinned in their hair, made a perfect picture of Indian ethnicity. Model Monikangana wore a crushed hand-printed chiffon saree with embroidered pleats and sauntered in to a melodious track from Zubeida.

Nikasha then stuck with AR Rahman's tracks from Yuva and Bombay, again a favourite with Sabyasachi.

There were a few interesting pieces: a Jamdani top with pleated georgette dhoti pants teamed with a mini dupatta, and a kaftan top with Chikankari and zari work worn with slim-cut brocade pants.
