Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is not one to mince any words on Twitter and this time he has spoken up against builders who sell homes to people on 'false promises'
Veteran Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor is known for his plain speak and never minces any words when it comes to expressing his views on sensitive matters -- be it blind religious beliefs, beef ban or taking on detractors.
The 63-year-old once again showed his 'no-nonsense' side on micro blogging site with a post that takes on the builders. He took to Twitter to take a dig at the real estate sector over the manner in which they generally sell homes to people.
He posted an image of a glass of beer with the caption, "Builders must explain plinth area to future buyers in this manner!"
The image had a small amount of beer and a lot of beer head. While the beer was described as carpet area, the froth was termed super built up.
Builders generally manipulate the ratio between super built-up (stairs, lift, corridors etc.) and carpet areas (net usable area inside the house) while selling the property.
The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2016, which was recently approved by both houses of the Parliament, is, however, expected to change this.
