Paoli Dam's bare back posters created a stir when her debut Hindi project, Vivek Agnihotri's Hate Story, released in April so also was her bold role. The hot Bengali starlet then strangely went missing from B-Town.
Though the film's producer Vikram Bhatt had announced a film on wife swapping with her, it has been kept on the backburner. Instead, she has now begun shooting for Vikram's other production, a courtroom drama, directed by Suhail Tatari (who earlier made the Sikander Kher- Gul Panag starrer Summer of 2007).
The actress who is known for her sensous roles in Bengali films opted to do a cover up act for her second B-Town outing. Says Paoli, "Hate Story was an erotic thriller so I did what the role demanded. For my next film, I wanted to do something distinct. In my upcoming film, I essay a lawyer in and it is based on a true-life incident of medical negligence."
She adds, "We began shooting in Mumbai on September 12 and then decided to take a break for the Ganpati festival. We begin to shoot again from September 21." About her disappearance from B-Town after Hate Story she says, "I had my Bengali film commitments that kept me busy in the past few months. In May, Bappaditya Bandopadhya's film Elar Char Adhyay based on Rabindranath Tagore's last novel Char Adhyay released.
The film was also screened as part of the Bangla Film Festival in London. In July, there was a Bangla Film Festival and awards ceremony held in Pattaya in Thailand." At the moment, Paoli has wrapped up her Kolkata assignments and is making Mumbai her base as she is keen to do more Bollywood films.u00a0
