He firmly believed that restoring the Sharia law would make things better in Islamic countries, and stressed on the need for violent Jihad against those who oppressed Muslims.
From 1979 through 1989, the United States Central Intelligence Agency provided overt and covert financial aid, arms and training to Osama's Islamic Jihad Mujahideen through Operation Cyclone and The Reagan Doctrine. President Reagan often praised Osama's Mujahideen as Afghanistan's 'Freedom Fighters.'
On December 26, 2001, bin Laden said on a video that the 9/11 suicide attacks were intended to stop US support for Israel.
Immediately after the 9/11 attacks, US named bin Laden and the Al-Qaeda as the prime suspects and offered a reward of $25 million for information leading to his capture or death. The price money was doubled on July 13, 2007.
