Actress says she feels safe in the strife-torn state
Priyanka also wants other Bollywood units to shoot in Kashmir. She says that Kashmiris are impeccable in their hospitality and she never felt any danger in being in a place torn by Indo-Pak strife. Word is that the tourism department of Kashmir may sign Priyanka as their brand ambassador.
Priyanka's endorsement of Kashmir is in stark contrast to that of other Bollywood actresses. A couple of years back, Rahul Dholakia decided to direct a film on people in the Kashmir valley and approached Kareena Kapoor. However, the gal declined, as she did not want to shoot in Kashmir. The role then went to Bipasha who agreed to shoot in the valley in Anantnag, 55kms from Srinagar, but developed cold feet after a few days. The locals repeatedly disrupted shooting as they were worried how the film was going to portray their region. The crowds scared the actress and she flew back to Mumbai, even as her costar Sanjay Dutt arrived to join the unit. Shooting then shifted to Manali.
