Almost every Disney offering has resonated with the Indian masses, because it is fun, humorous and adventurous. The production house found a promising partnership in 'Barfi!' (2012) duo Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor for their next venture, 'Jagga Jasoos'.
Amrita Pandey, VP Studios, Disney India, says, "At its core, Jagga Jasoos is an endearing journey of a boy's search for his father. But, it's also an incredibly clever narrative, one that binds the film together via songs, a rare occurrence in Indian cinema."
Basu and Kapoor have previously stated that their film does not follow the traditional eight to 10 soundtrack format, where the songs include a lot of dance, and do not necessarily take the storyline further. In the adventure comedy, it is the music that enables the story to progress.
Jagga Jasoos, also featuring Katrina Kaif as the female lead, is set to release on July 14.
