The poster of the film created for the Kazakhstan release
Days after it was reported that Rani Mukerji-starrer Hickhi would release in Russia on Teacher's Day comes news that the film will also hit screens in Kazakhstan. Given that the drama is being dubbed in the Russian language for the September 6 release, the same print will hit screens in Kazakhstan on September 20.
Mukerji, who won hearts with her spirited performance as a teacher who deals with Tourette Syndrome, tells mid-day, "It's amazing that films can cut across cultures and languages if they carry a universal story. Hichki is a reflection of society; of how we have weaknesses that must be overcome. I'm happy that the core message is resonating with audiences across the globe."
Siddharth Malhotra's directed venture will hit 15 screens in Kazakhstan, making it the biggest release for a Hindi feature film in the nation since 2015, when Bajrangi Bhaijaan hit screens.
