He might be in the news as one of the two Indian designers to participate at the South Asia Trade Fair (SATF) 2013 to be held in Spain next year, but currently, Rocky S has diverted all his energies to his resort wear collection that will be showcased at the India Resort Fashion Week, which opens on November 30.

"The collection covers the authentic quintessence of lavishness. It is a perfect amalgamation of fusion of the silhouettes and unconventional texture and styling details," informs Rocky, in an email interview. This line, meant for people who are looking forward to a vacation, comprises of complimenting styles or silhouettes including chic, short fitted dresses, long flowing full length gowns, semi-fitted, mid-length dresses, stylish hoodies, short tunics and tops. One can look out for highly glamourised set of garments with heavy crepe, taffeta, georgette chiffon and suede trims with ornamentation of different materials like cord work, shiny and matte sequins, antique kundan stones, resham work, embellishments of crystals, shell buttons and more, adding a classic, elegant feel to the same.
"Resort wear has become a year-round fashion wear, which is easy to wear and comfortable in all climates. Resort wear has quickly become a recognisable and significant international business. It has definitely carved a niche in the fashion industry," he says. The Mumbai based designer is a regular for celebrities including John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Dia Mirza. For this collection, models strut the ramp in colours like beige, old rose, ivory, pistachio perfectly blended with Rocky's signature colour black.

As far as the venue of the event is concerned, the designer who is a regular at fashion weeks across the country, is glad to be part of a fashion extravaganza in Goa. He says that since Mumbai has seen all the possible fashion weeks, Goa will pose as the best option to showcase a resort wear collection.u00a0"The location is soothing and relaxing. I don't feel any other place would be better than Goa for a resort fashion week. Goa's spirit and aura brings an exotic fusion of music and fashion together," he believes.
