If Freddie Mercury had been alive, the British musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the rock band Queen, would have turned 66 today.

We know his songs - We will rock you, Don't stop me now, Bohemian Rhapsody and more - but there's a lot we may not know about him. CS brings you some trivia on Freddie.

>> Freddie Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara. He started calling himself Freddie when he was studying in St Peter's School in Panchgani.

>> Freddie loved his cats, and dedicated his solo-album 'Mr. Bad Guy' to them. When he was out touring, he used to phone his cats and talk to them for hours.

>> His song "Bohemian Rhapsody" (1975) was named Britain's favourite pop single of all time on 2002 in a poll by Guinness World Records.
