Ruslaan Mumtaz, for whom a burger will always score over a sandwich, has built a to-die-for physique in his latest film. A superstar in the film, Ruslaan made sure he looked like one with his well-toned body. He tells CS all that he had to put himself through:
My entry sequence in the film has me working out without anything on. I had to look the best. I have always been fit, but never really had to make so many sacrifices in order to look like a hunk! I am a complete foodie and I wonder how on earth I managed to stick to a torturous diet plan for more than a month! I went on a high protein diet, which meant no less than 20 egg whites a day along with one whole chicken, a boiled one at that! After my last body shot in the film, I called for a butter chicken and biryani to celebrate the end of such an arduous struggle!
Self-taught
I did not hire any instructor. It was just my own research. I was very particular about staying away from supplements and steroids, because I knew I could build a body without artificial interventions. My workout regime is spread over five days the first day focuses on the chest and shoulders, the second day on biceps and triceps. I have slotted two days for working on the legs since my legs are skinny and needed a stronger look for the film. The back comes on the final day of gym. Each day is a two-hour affair without any cardio exercise. Apart from this, which forms my regular routine, I occasionally do stuff just to relax. For instance, a jog on the beach or going to play badminton with friends helps me wind down.
Fast-licious
Normally, I eat really oily food at home and love junk food. You can well imagine how tough it was for me to survive on salads and boiled meat during the shoot. Every evening my snack has to be some sort of fast food. Since I cannot resist this, I have to balance out by working out extra hours. I go for break dancing classes once every week. I love football and when I am playing, I tend to forget that I am an actor and cannot afford to enter a set with a sprained knee. And so I have now replaced football with bowling all for the sake of acting!

If you want to build your body, be goal-oriented. Set targets and work at achieving those. Unless you are sincere about your workout schedule, not even the best trainer in the world can help you get to your aim.
