Confirms Karan, "Yes, Shah Rukh is playing father to a teenager in MNIK. It was never an issue for either Shah Rukh or me. But then why should it be? His son Aryan is almost 11. MNIK has Shah Rukh essay the character of Rizwan Khan who is suspected to be a terrorist after authorities mistake his disability for 'suspicious' behaviour post 9/11. His co-star Kajol plays Mandira, a Hindu single mother who Rizwan falls in love with.
The film's cast and crew recently returned from a schedule in the US. The next and final stint of shooting will be in Mumbai in September.
