Saif and his partner disagreed about their film's promo. Guess who eventually had his way...
Saif Ali Khan and his Illuminati Films business partner Dinesh Vijan might share a common vision and mindset on most subjects. But they could not come to an agreement on the first promo of Love Aaj Kal.
Not cool
Says a source, "Dinesh Vijan had roped in Binny and Ravi Paddha who have been designing promos for years, for Love Aaj Kal. Dinesh loved the few that they came up with, but Saif didn't.
He thought they weren'tu00a0"romantic and cool." While the actor's partner felt that they should go with Paddha brothers trailers as they had years of experience behind them, Saif was adamant about wanting something different."
This led to an argument between the two. Adds the source, "Saif then roped in the services of Trigger Happy Entertainment owned by Amit Chandra who had designed Om Shanti Om."
Saif also checked with Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar (Amit is also designing the promos of KJo's Qurbaan and Wake Up Sid) about Chandra's work and was satisfied with the feedback.
"Saif gave him a week to design the promo but Amit designed it in two days and SAK loved it."
He called girlfriend Kareena to see the results. "She loved it too and when they showed it to Dinesh, he too admitted the new one was better. Now, the promo is on air. Saif thinks it's very much like him cool, romantic and stylish appealing to people of all generations.
Saif and Vijan who are in London to promote their film for the T20 cricket series were unavailable for comment.
