During a recent trip in Delhi for the promotion of Kurbaan, Saif Ali Khan and girlfriend Kareena Kapoor got the fright of their lives when a glass door of a store smashed near them and they had a narrow escape. The stars were rushed out of the premise immediately under the cover of security.
Says a source from Dharma productions, "Saif and Bebo were at PVR Ambience in Gurgaon for the film's promotion. Nearly 75,000 people came to see the 'it' couple. It is one of the largest malls in india. Each mall is more than 1 km long and there were thronging crowds in the atria area. There are nine floors; each was packed with fans.
Holding on
There was tight security but because of the crowds pulling and pushing, most of the team got separated. Saif sensed trouble and held on to Bebo's hand throughout. A few people from the crowds broke through the security circle and rushed towards the stars. In the ensuing melee, they pushed against a huge glass door of a shop, which gave away under pressure. The stars were surrounded by bouncers and were rushed to a waiting car and nothing untoward happened.
Saif brushes off the incident with, "I think such things are too trivial to talk about. I usually walk looking down so I don't notice much. Naturally, there will be crowds because Kareena and I were there."
