The actor sends cataract patients to Pune for operations
Salman Khan's generosity recently made news when he donated over 100 cycles to village kids in Wai as reported earlier. Apart from that, the actor also organised an eye camp for senior citizens suffering from cataract.
Salman called up a doctor from Mumbai and asked him to attend to old men and women from Wai on the verge of losing their eyesight. He personally supervised the entire operation and made sure they got proper post-treatment care. Those with cataract were taken to Pune for operation.
A source from Wai where Salman is shooting for Dabangg says, "There were a lot of old men and women who would come to see him on the sets. Salman would often interact with them and even call them over for lunch.
He has a soft spot for his aged fans and always makes it a point to meet them. During his encounter, he realised that most of them had eye problems. They were either complaining of poor vision or sore eyes."
The number of people ailing from poor eyesight alarmed the actor. He immediately called up an eye doctor from the city and organised an eye camp on the sets. "A lot of the old people were diagnosed with cataract. Salman asked the doctors to operate on those with the affliction and also provide them with post-operation care. On check-up, 26 people had cataract. Salman travelled with them to Pune to get them operated. The following week, he took another 22 people and got their surgeries done as well."
