Big B shares his fitness mantra
He's just a day over 68, but looks 25 years younger, sounds 25 years wiser and is fitter than most 25-year-olds. When it comes to stamina, he can put his younger counterparts to shame. Sexy Sam shares his health secrets:
1. Step by step I would like to believe that I'm genetically fit. I make it a point to hit the gym and move every limb in my body. I also carry a pedometer that records the number of steps I take everyday. I'm at 5,494 right now as we talk, but my record so far has been 8,000.
2. Eat rightI try to eat healthy. I swear by Dabur honey and it is an important part of my diet. I start my day with it. Curd with Dabur Honey is my all-time favourite. I don't freak out on food. I don't smoke or drink, I've given up tea and coffee, I don't drink colas, I've quit sweets. That doesn't really leave much on the menu, does it?
3. Busy BStaying busy and keeping your mind occupied is vital to staying fit. I've had the opportunity of working with four decades of directors and I have had to move with the times. The average age on the sets is about 25 years and I've just turned 68. So, this gap of 40 years is sometimes difficult to bridge. It is important to make that kind of adjustment.
4. Keeping a blogIt was Aamir (Khan) who first introduced me to blogging. I write every day and now I know that some people do listen in when I blog. It's therapeutic. I get all sorts of responses. There is the abusive, the critical, the complimentary. But, it is healthy to come to a platform where you can acknowledge all these people and know what is going on.
