What's it about: Remember Antara Mali's Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon? The story of a common girl wanting to step into Madhuri's shoes that meets an ill-fated end? Using celebrity and idol worship as its focal point, Makrand Deshpande tries to tell a similar story about a flower seller Paro (Chawla) obsessed with Shah Rukh Khan. One day she hears a voice at a signal telling her how beautiful she is. Identifying the voice as that of her favourite actor, she gets a strange impetus to try and win back her old flame John (Dhadhich). Soon reality takes a back seat and fantasy takes centre stage in her life.

What's hot: The attempt is to get into the psyche of a B-town fan who lives her life vicariously through the eyes of her favourite actor. Even though the attempt makes for an interesting premise, the supporting characters on the periphery don't really do much to take the story forward.

What's not: After establishing the central characters, Makrand kind of loses his way in a myriad of peripheral subplots that really don't add anything to the pace or subject. The Devdas-inspired love triangle between Paro, John and a hooker (Ghosh) falls flat. The problem lies in the experimental treatment, which would have worked on stage but doesn't generate any effect on celluloid. Performances are average. While Chawla looks her part, the same can't be said about the others.

What to do: Watch a SRK film rather than a muddled tale of a fan worshipping B-town's biggest star.
